1 Service Users
The service is available to nationwide university teachers, students, researchers and other staff.
According to the copyright, provide interlibrary loan service and delivery of photocopies of books, periodicals, conference papers, reports, standards, ancient literature, past newspapers.
To manage the document delivery applications easily and make it easier for readers to follow the application status, the users within the university and the formal service users outside the university must use the Document Delivery Service of the Library to submit the application.The application by E-mail will not be feasible.Only under special circumstances, will another mean be used. The informal users outside the university may submit the application by E-mail, Fax, Telephone, etc.
Upon request, documents can be delivered through Ftp loading Software, E-mail, Post, Fax or by means of Ariel; Users may also choose to collect the document in person or to use special courier service.
Requests by users within university:
New Users:
(1) Log on http://ill.sh.calis.edu.cn/gateway/ and use individual campus ID card number and password to confirm identity. Click “New User Register” → Select “Formal User Register” → Fill Out Account Information: Name, Department Category, Campus ID Card Number, Contact Number, etc. (Note: Items marked with * have to be completed.) → Click “Submit”. Then, wait for the staff to confirm your account information.
Means of Account Confirmation:
· Go to Room 305, Arts & Humanities Library for the counter confirmation.
· Send E-mail to libill@fudan.edu.cn for the confirmation in writing.
· Call 021-65654176 for the confirmation by phone
(2) After confirmation, log on http://ill.sh.calis.edu.cn/gateway/ to submit your document delivery application.
(3) Documents will be delivered by E-mail.
Requests by Users outside University:
New Users
(1) Log on http://ill.sh.calis.edu.cn/gateway/ and click “Non-campus ID Card User Login by Authentication System of Fudan University Library ”to register as new users.
(2) Go to Room 305, Arts & Humanities Library to prepay the charge. only after the staff activate the account, can the document delivery application be submitted.
(3) Documents will be delivered by E-mail.
Old Users( Registered Users):
(1) Log on http://ill.sh.calis.edu.cn/gateway/ and click “Non-campus ID Card User Login by Authentication System of Fudan University Library ” to log on the Document Delivery Service of the Library to submit the application.
(2) Documents will be delivered by E-mail.
Feedback:
Within one working day, the request will be processed. For the document outside the collections of the Library, once the document is obtained by the staff, it will be sent within one working day and the settlement of the service charge will be completed through the network management system.
6 Policy for Free Charge
(1) The library provids free document delivery service( 200 pages per year ) with each user holding Fudan Campus ID Card. The extra pages will be charged according to the standard tariff.
(2) If the user holding Fudan Campus ID Card registers as the CASHL’s formal user, the library will prestore RMB 50.00 for free.When the document delivery service is provided by CASHL, the charge will be paid by the library.

Ordinary request will be responded within one working day, and the documents will be delivered within three working days (On holidays delayed to the next working day).
Urgent request will be responded within one working day, and the documents will be delivered within one working days (for holiday delayed to the next working day).
If the requested documents are not within the collections of the Library, it may take longer time to deliver the documents.
For Users within University:
Document Delivery Charge = Processing Charge+ Delivery Charge
Processing Charge: documents collected within the CALIS network libraries: RMB 2.00; documents collected in the libraries other than the CALIS network libraries in China: RMB 5.00; documents collected in the foreign libraries: RMB 10.00
Delivery Charge: charged according to the costs
Note: Usually for a document less than 10 pages, the delivery charge is RMB5.00; if the document need to be acquired from foreign countries, the delivery charge is about RMB150.00; to order a dissertation from BELL & HOWELL Co., the charge is RMB 400 – RMB 500. Delivery made by means of Fax or ARIEL is subject to additional charges.
For Users outside University:
Document Delivery Charge = Processing Charge+ Copying Charge + Delivery Charge
Processing Charge: documents collected within the CALIS network libraries: RMB 2.00; documents collected in the libraries other than the CALIS network libraries in China: RMB 5.00; documents collected in the foreign libraries: RMB 10.00
Copying Charge: RMB 1.00 per page
Delivery Charge: free( E-mail ) ; charged according to the costs ( post, courier service, etc. )
Users within University: Either prepay or pay afterwards by cash or through internal money transfer book.
Users outside University: Usually prepay
