CHEN Yinchi, received his bachelor's degree (1988) and Ph. D (1993) from Fudan University, and taught at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, where he served as a lecturer (1993), an associate professor (1996), a full professor (2002), and was the deputy head (2005-2012) and Chair (2012-2020) of the Department.

He is currently the Chief Librarian of Fudan University Library, the Director of International Center for Studies of Chinese Civilization, Fudan (ICSCC), the Vice Director of the Chinese Language and Literature Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education.

CHEN Yinchi was awarded the first prize of National Teaching Achievements in 2009. He was appointed as the “Changjiang Scholar” distinguished professor by the Ministry of Education.

His research interests include Classical Chinese Poetry and Poetics, Daoism and its impact on literature, and Buddhist literature in Medieval China; he also studies intellectual and literary exchanges between modern China and the western world. He has published several books, including Zhuang Zi and His Ideas of Literature and Art, Buddhism and Literature in Medieval China, WenYuan Yinghua (Finest Blossoms in the Garden of Literature ) and Literary Trend in Late Imperial China.
